The General Assembly of State Parties to the Convention at its seventh session (UNESCO Headquarters, Paris, from 4 to 6 June 2018) approved the amendments to the Operational Directives on periodic reporting (Resolution 7.GA 10) as recommended by the twelfth session of the Intergovernmental Committee through its Decision 12.COM 10, thus transitioning towards a regional cycle of reporting on the implementation of the Convention (Form ICH-10).
The calendar for the first regional cycle of reporting has been established at the thirteenth session of the Intergovernmental Committee (Port Louis, Republic of Mauritius, 26 November to 1 December 2018) and is as follows:
2021 cycle: Latin America and the Caribbean (submission of periodic report on 15 December 2020)
2022 cycle: Europe (submission of periodic report on 15 December 2021)
2023 cycle: Arab States (submission of periodic report on 15 December 2022)
2024 cycle: Africa (submission of periodic report on 15 December 2023)
2025 cycle: Asia and the Pacific (submission of periodic report on 15 December 2024)
2026: Reflection year (no examination of periodic reports at the Committee)
