The public broadcaster of Japan, Nippon Hoso Kyokai (NHK), and UNESCO cooperate since 2003 to develop an on-line database of high-definition images on cultural heritage.
After an initial series of shooting of world heritage sites, this database now also features intangible cultural heritage. The videos, initially produced in Japanese, are adapted by UNESCO in English and French for an on-line access.
