7.COM 5.BUR - face-to-face meeting of 24 October 2012

The Bureau of the Committee will meet on 24 October from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Room XIV (Bonvin building) after the Open ended intergovernmental working group on the right scale or scope of an element.

The Bureau will discuss the agenda and timetable of the 7th session of the Intergovernmental Committee from 3 to 7 December and a revision of the spending plan for the use of the funds allocated for ‘other functions of the Committee’ under the Plan for the use of the resources of the Intangible Cultural Heritage Fund, as well as several international assistance requests greater than US$25,000 that the Committee decided not to approve at its 6th session in Bali in November 2011, delegating further approval to the Bureau (Decision 6.COM 10: English|French).

7.COM 4.BUR - electronic consultation (August 2012)

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the seventh session of the Committee can no longer be held in Grenada in November 2012.

Therefore, and pursuant to Rule 4.1 of the Committee’s Rules of Procedure, the Bureau, in consultation with the Director-General, changed the date and place of the meeting by adopting Decision 7.COM 4.BUR 1.

The seventh session of the Intergovernmental Committee will now take place at UNESCO Headquarters, Paris, from 3 to 7 December 2012.

7.COM 3.BUR - face-to-face meeting of 8 June 2012

The Bureau of the seventh session of the Intergovernmental Committee met on Friday 8 June 2012 from 5 to 6 p.m. in room II (Fontenoy).

The Bureau had to replace its rapporteur for that meeting and was informed on two international assistance requests up to US$25,000 and the use of the funds allocated for ‘other functions of the Committee’ under the Plan for the use of the resources of the Intangible Cultural Heritage Fund.

7.COM 2.BUR - electronic consultation (May 2012)

The Intergovernmental Committee, by its Decision 6.COM 5, adopted the provisional report on its activities between the third (June 2010) and fourth (June 2012) sessions of the General Assembly and delegated to its Bureau ‘the authority to approve the completed final report before the next session of the General Assembly’ (4 to 8 June 2012). During its electronic consultation in May 2012, the Bureau approved the report available in the information document ITH/12/4.GA/INF.4.1 of the fourth session of the General Assembly.

7.COM 1.BUR - electronic consultation (January 2012)

In accordance with the procedures established in the Operational Directives for the Implementation of the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, the Bureau of the Committee is in particular to evaluate and approve preparatory assistance requests to elaborate nominations for inscription on the List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Need of Urgent Safeguarding.

Four preparatory assistance requests have been submitted to the Bureau for its first electronic consultation in January 2012.
