Opera Without Borders: Italian Theatres for the International Day of the Intangible Cultural Heritage
The Committee for the Safeguarding of Opera Singing, the official body for Italy’s UNESCO-listed opera singing tradition, has united a network of Italian opera houses. On October 17, and on nearby dates, these theatres will dedicate special performances to celebrate and promote international dialogue among intangible cultural heritage:
- Teatro alla Scala: La Fille du Regiment (Gaetano Donizetti)
- Teatro Ponchielli di Cremona: L’elisir d’Amore (Gaetano Donizetti)
- Teatro Regio di Parma: 89 Seconds to Midnight” M.V. Cabizza
