Opera Without Borders: Italian Theatres for the International Day of the Intangible Cultural Heritage

The Committee for the Safeguarding of Opera Singing, the official body for Italy’s UNESCO-listed opera singing tradition, has united a network of Italian opera houses. On October 17, and on nearby dates, these theatres will dedicate special performances to celebrate and promote international dialogue among intangible cultural heritage:

  • Teatro alla Scala: La Fille du Regiment (Gaetano Donizetti)
  • Teatro Ponchielli di Cremona: L’elisir d’Amore (Gaetano Donizetti)
  • Teatro Regio di Parma: 89 Seconds to Midnight” M.V. Cabizza
  • Teatro Pergolesi-Spontini di Jesi: Don Giovanni (W.A. Mozart)

and others…
