“La Festa di Sant’Antuono e le Battuglie di Pastellessa” Photo Exhibition
In order to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, the UNESCO-accredited NGO Associazione Sant’Antuono & le Battuglie di Pastellessa, based in Macerata Campania (Italy), with the Municipality of Macerata Campania (Italy), the Central Institute for Intangible Heritage (ICPI) of the Italian Ministry of Culture and the local School of Macerata Campania (Italy) organize a photo exhibition on the cultural element of the Feast of Sant’Antuono (St. Anthony the Abbot), which takes place on 17 January each year in Macerata Campania.
The purpose of the activity is to educate and raise awareness among new generations of the ICH values and the importance of the safeguarding according to the 2003 Convention principles, while promoting the contribution of living heritage to sustainable development. The photos taken by Roberto Galasso (ICPI) are accompanied by captions written by the students, aged 7 to 13, of the local school (formal educational activity).
The activity co-financed by the Regione Campania (POC Campania 2014-2020) in the context of the “Le Feste del Fuoco” project allows you to show 150 photos distributed across the 7 school buildings in Macerata Campania.
The inauguration of the photo exhibition is on 14 December 2023 at the school building in Macerata Campania, in Via Mazzini, at 10am.
On the occasion of the presentation of the photo exhibition, a workshop (symposium / formal educational activity) will be held with the participation of the students and we will talk with them about the themes of the 2003 Convention, in order to increase of the knowledge and awareness-raising of the ICH value in the young people.
