Annie Tohmé Tabet is a professor in the Department of Sociology at Saint Joseph University in Beirut. She has been a member of the global network of facilitators for the 2003 UNESCO Convention for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage since 2011.
Her research focuses on intangible cultural heritage, the suburbs of Beirut, memories of war, armed conflicts, disasters, and forced migration. Her work as a facilitator has included capacity-building workshops, supervision of inventory work, needs assessments, the development of cultural policies, the preparation and analysis of periodic reports, projects to integrate Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) into schools, including the preparation of training materials, and the creation of an eco-museum on olive growing.
