Ms Nahla Emam

Dr. Nahla Emam, a respected academic, is at the forefront of preserving Egypt’s intangible heritage. As a Professor of Folk Habits, Beliefs, and Traditional Knowledge at the High Institute of Folklore, Academy of Arts, her expertise is widely acknowledged.

With a Ph.D. in Folklore and degrees in Anthropology and Sociology, Dr. Emam effectively connects academia and practical implementation in her advisory role within the Ministry of Culture for Intangible Cultural Heritage.

Dr. Emam also serves as a member of the evaluation body for the Safeguarding Intangible Cultural Heritage Convention, under the 2003 Convention (2021-2025).
