Kesler Bien-Aimé has a Ph.D. in Ethnology and Heritage from Laval University. He works on the Master’s Programme in History, Memory, and Heritage (PM-HMP) at the Haiti Institute of African Studies (IERAH/ISERSS) within the Department of History and Archaeology at the State University of Haiti, where he teaches Heritage and Memory, as well as General History of Photography and Film. Kesler Bien-Aimé is the Programme Director for Culture at the Haitian National Commission for Cooperation with UNESCO, and serves on the Scientific Committee of the Institute of Cultural Heritage (IPAC) at Laval University. He is also a member of the Folklore Studies Association of Canada (ACEF/FSAC) and of the Laboratory’s Axis 3: Language, Discourse and Representations (LADIREP). His research interests focus on (de)colonial pedagogy and conflictual appropriation of colonial legacy in postcolonial territories.
