Having trained as an anthropologist, Imed Ben Soula is now a research director at the National Heritage Institute in Tunis. His teaching duties at the University of Tunis include courses on oral traditions, rituals, and traditional skills. He supervises several doctoral dissertations in anthropology and heritage studies.

In addition to publishing several scientific papers in this field, he has helped build a dynamic team with a proven track record in inventory for Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) in Tunisia. He has also led a series of capacity-building workshops throughout the Arab world.
