The XII International Seminar on Intangible Cultural Heritage: Educating with Heritage Communities is envisioned as a space for dialogue, reflection, and training on heritage education, understood as a key tool for the valorization and safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage, in accordance with the principles of UNESCO’s 2003 Convention.

With a solid trajectory of eleven previous editions, the seminar has become a specialized platform for Intangible Cultural Heritage, recognized both nationally and internationally. In its twelfth edition, it reaffirms its core mission while placing renewed emphasis on showcasing good practices in heritage education, engaging new audiences, and experimenting with diverse platforms and formats that promote dialogue between heritage communities, educators, cultural institutions, and academic actors.

The seminar will employ an active, participatory, and context-sensitive methodology, incorporating keynote lectures, discussion panels, hands-on workshops, and artistic heritage activities. It aims to foster a fertile environment for knowledge exchange, pedagogical experimentation, and critical reflection on the role of education in the transmission, appropriation, and reconfiguration of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
