Traditional knowledge in Uzbekistan reflects deep, historical adaptations to the region’s arid climate and diverse landscapes. Rooted in Silk Road agricultural and nomadic traditions, this living heritage encompasses sustainable resource management, ethnomedicine, and seasonal rituals that harmonize human life with Central Asian ecosystems. Traditional water conservation and management includes karez systems, mirab governance and arik networks. Traditional agriculture and agroforestry cover almond & walnut cultivation, tugai forest utilization and permaculture methods. The main goal of the seminar is to increase public awareness on traditional knowledge related with surrounding nature. Seminar will focus on collecting, preserving, and popularizing knowledge and skills related to nature, raising awareness among young people, attracting young people to areas such as agriculture, livestock, beekeeping, honey production, and fishing, collecting and disseminating traditional knowledge and skills related to them among industry specialists and the general public, thereby increasing productivity and preserving knowledge and passing it to future generations.
Programme
