Moderated discussion on ICH in Slovakia

The panel dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the UNESCO Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage will deal with its implementation in Slovakia and the tools that represent individual lists of intangible cultural heritage at different levels. The panelists will discuss how the living heritage is an integral part of our everyday life, although we often do not realize it. Its elements, various practices, procedures and expressions are irreplaceable inspirations for a sustainable way of life. No less interesting will be the discussion about the possibilities that living heritage represents in the challenges that humanity faces in the present and in the future. The panel will also focus on the contribution of the Slovak Republic in safeguarding living heritage on the global level. The panel will be attended by: Anna Plassat Muríňová, Ambassador, Permanent Delegation of Slovakia to UNESCO, Barbora Morongová, Director of the Department of intangible cultural heritage and cultural inclusion, MK SR, Juraj Hamar, general director of SĽUK and Vladimír Kyseľ, an associate of the Slovak ICH Centre at SĽUK (The Slovak State Traditional Dance Company). Moderated by: Ľubica Voľanská, senior researcher of the Institute of Ethnology and Social Anthropology, Slovak Academy of Science and external collaborator of the Slovak ICH Centre at SĽUK.
