International Conference “Dwelling on Space: representation and safeguarding of its tangible and intangible heritage”

The International Conference “Dwelling on Space: representation and safeguarding of its tangible and intangible heritage” has been organized in occasion of the twentieth anniversary of the Convention for Safeguarding of the Intangible Heritage and will also take place as a preliminary Conference to the XXII International Study Forum “Le Vie dei Mercanti” to be held, as every year, in June 2024 in Naples and Capri.

The Speakers contributing to the Conference, coming from the academia, research institutes and other relevant stakeholders, will explore, from different perspectives, some of the themes dear to UNESCO for this Anniversary, including: safeguarding intangible cultural heritage in education, priority Africa, living heritage in emergencies, sustainable development and living heritage.

The topic of protection of world heritage through aerial survey and remote sensing will be also explored and analyzed during the Conference, being Benecon University Consortium core business.

To celebrate the Twentieth Anniversary and to make the study and research meeting a moment of reflection on the role of the 2003 Convention with the aim of raising awareness about the diversity and richness of intangible cultural heritage, the organizers have also launched a Call for Papers.
