Capacity-Building Seminar for Non-Governmental Organizations Cultural Heritage and UNESCO

Traditional Arts Association (Geleneksel Sanatlar Derneği) is a civil society organization that aims to support the development of traditional arts—one of our domain of intangible cultural heritage—contribute to their promotion, raise public awareness of art, and encourage education and production in this field. The association brings together academics, artists, students, and other individuals interested in traditional arts and crafts under same roof.

To mark the International Day of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, the association will organize the Capacity-Building Seminar for Non-Governmental Organizations, sharing its experiences gained since 2018 as an accredited NGO.

Through the “Capacity-Building Seminar for Non-Governmental Organizations”, our association will share its experiences gained since 2018 as an accredited NGO. The seminar will feature presentations on the importance of intangible cultural heritage and the Convention, community participation, the role of NGOs within the Convention, accreditation processes, project writing, and fund management.

The seminar will bring together NGOs operating in the field of intangible cultural heritage in the Southeastern Anatolia Region that are active in safeguarding ICH but have not yet UNESCO accreditation. Aiming to introduce the concept of intangible cultural heritage and the Convention, this event seeks to strengthen and raise awareness non-governmental organizations in the region.
