3-Days Cultural Events and Cultural Conference with title "The role and contribution of cultural Associations in the safeguarding of cultural heritage. Practices, thoughts, and reflections"
CIOFF® Greece organizes every Annually events during Annual General Assemblies of its Members in Greece in order to promote cultural heritage, folklore, information of Folklore Festivals, good practices etc. to the Members and to public.
For 2023 the events will take place in Salamina island during the days 1, 2 and 3 of December 2023. Includes cultural events, meetings, conference and other activities. CIOFF® Greece decided to organize the conference of 2023 with the title: “The role and contribution of cultural Associations in the safeguarding of cultural heritage. Practices, thoughts, and reflections” in support of the 20th Anniversary of the Convention of Intangible Cultural Heritage (UNESCO 2003-2023).
The conference will take place on Saturday 2nd December 2023, 10.30’ – 12.30’(EEST).
For the conference have been invited the Director of the Directorate of Modern Culture - Greek Ministry of Culture, which is responsible for the ICH, the official representatives of Greek Cultural Associations who are members of the national scientific committee for the Convention, the National Commission for UNESCO, Representative of CIOFF® International. All of them will present, during the first session of the conference, the implementation of the Convention and the role of the various Associations and NGOs involved in it, either as accredited organizations in UNESCO, or as associations dealing with the subject. For the second session, association and communities related to Greek ICH Elements inscribed to National Inventory will present the elements.
