An anthropologist and specialist in territorial governance, memory, and biocultural systems, with over 25 years of experience in the senior civil service and international cooperation for sustainable development in Latin America and the Caribbean. Adriana served as Colombia’s Deputy Minister for Heritage, Memory, and Cultural Governance (2022–2024) and as Director General of the Regional Centre for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Latin America (CRESPIAL, 2017–2020).

Adriana has led the design, implementation, and assessment of public policies, programmes, and projects focusing on peacebuilding, symbolic reparations, and the interconnection between culture, biodiversity, and sustainable territorial development in multicultural and post-conflict contexts. She has extensive experience in multilevel engagement with governments, multilateral organizations, and Indigenous, peasant farmer, and Afro-descendant communities, promoting differentiated approaches to gender and intersectionality in public policy. She has developed and supported initiatives in over twenty countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, strengthening institutional and community capacity and integrating cultural diversity, social cohesion, and sustainability into development agendas.
