Overview:

Through this project and in the context of enhancing rural community livelihood, Ulos weavers and Gorga sculptors practicing in the remote areas of the Toba region (North Sumatra Province) will be trained on digital platforms for public awareness-raising, improve the production techniques around their living heritage for increased income opportunities and work towards establishing a joint COVID-19 recovery plan in collaboration with youth groups from different villages in the region.
The expected outputs from this project will be new crafts products using natural dye for Ulos and alternative eco-friendly materials for Gorga, communication material to promote the intangible cultural heritage of the Ulos and Gorga communities through social media, and concrete joint activities for the recovery of these communities.
