Accreditation process
Accreditation is mandatory for media professionals who wish to cover – regardless of whether in person or remotely – the twentieth session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage and should be completed beforehand and as soon as possible.
To be accredited, the following steps should be followed:
- Each media professional seeking accreditation should request accreditation through the INDICO platform (please choose the dedicated form for ‘Press’) here: https://indico.un.org/event/1019922/registrations/;
- UNESCO press office may request further information as part of the review process. Once the submission is approved, an official confirmation will be sent with further details on how to complete the process through the system established by the Host country;
- All media representatives who need a visa must apply for one, as indicated in the general information (document LHE/25/20.COM/INF.1).
Please take note of the need to declare all media equipment at Customs upon arrival.
The proceedings of the Committee will be broadcast live via webcast. In addition, a dedicated WhatsApp group will be available throughout the session to provide media professionals with real-time updates on the progress of the work.
Media registration and Security measures
Media registration, as for all other participants, will be open throughout the session. Please note that your application for accreditation must be received and approved before you attend in person. Once on site, journalists will need to obtain their badge at the media registration desk.
Accreditation badges are to be worn visibly at all times to gain access to the venue and must be presented upon request to security personnel. Accreditation badges are not transferable. Access to the session venue will be denied to any individual who uses the badge improperly. Please be advised that security personnel may verify that equipment taken into the session venue is used for its intended purpose. Kindly allow sufficient time in your schedule to pass the security checks.
Media Centre
A media centre will be provided for the coverage of the session. Media will also have access to workstations and a Wi-Fi connection.
