31st March 2022 marks the deadline for submitting nominations to the Lists of the 2003 Convention, proposals to the Register for Good Safeguarding Practices and Requests for International Assistance for examination by the eighteenth session of the Intergovernmental Committee in November/December 2023. In line with the Committee’s decision, the Secretariat will process at least 55 files for examination under the 2023 cycle.

Nominations, including all required supporting documents, video and photos, should be submitted by 6 p.m. (Paris time) on 31st March 2022 using the forms for the 2023 cycle available online.

Given the ongoing sanitary situation in Paris, the electronic submission of the nominations is strongly encouraged to the following email address: ICH.nominations@unesco.org. In this regard, please consider using the UNESCO File Depot system for transferring large files. A short message will be generated automatically to acknowledge receipt.

The hard copies of the nominations with original signatures may be sent by postal mail to the Secretariat (c/o Ms Josiane Poivre, Living Heritage Entity, Culture Sector, 7 place de Fontenoy, 75352 Paris 07 SP, France) in parallel and before or after the deadline.

The Secretariat will strive to perform the usual technical completeness check to identify any missing information by 30th June 2022. The submitting States concerned will be able to revise the nomination form(s) before the deadline of 30th September 2022. Given a high number of statutory meetings planned this year, there is a possibility that the Secretariat complete its technical completeness check after 30th June 2022. In case of such an eventuality, the deadline for submitting States to revise the nomination form(s) will be adjusted accordingly beyond 30th September 2022 to ensure that each State is given three months to complete its file.

Should you encounter technical problems, kindly contact us by writing to ICH.nominations@unesco.org.
