Andrei Prohin has a PhD in the history of Romanians. He holds the position of scientific secretary at the National Museum of Ethnography and Natural History (Chișinău) and of secretary of the National Commission for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of the Republic of Moldova. He has participated in drafting nomination files, documentation, and promotion of the ICH, editing and translating volumes in the field of ethnography. His fields of interest include: cultural heritage, folklore, ethnography, museum studies, Byzantine and South-East European culture. He has authored a children’s book on folk traditions, as well as academic papers dedicated to history, traditional culture, and cultural heritage.
