Prof. Deng Nhial Chioh Dhoar is a heritage expert with over 25 years of experience in safeguarding intangible and tangible cultural heritage in South Sudan. He serves as Director of Intangible Cultural Heritage at the Ministry of Culture, Museums and National Heritage and is a national expert for the 2003 UNESCO Convention and focal point for the 2005 Convention. He is the Founder and Executive Director of Maale Foundation for Heritage, Peace and Development. He holds a Master’s degree in Peace and Development Studies and has extensive experience in community-based heritage safeguarding, training, and cultural policy implementation.
