With the financial su ort of the Public Foundation under the Parliament of the Re ublic of Uzbekistan, an inventory of the intangible cultural heritage of Uzbekistan was carried out in 2021-2022 by order of the Ministry of Culture, and as a result of these studies, a book-album "Intangible Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan" was published in three languages. Networking on the enhancement of the multinational nomination "The Art of Embroidery" was initiated by the NGO "Umrboqiy meros " of Uzbekistan in 2023. A nomination file was prepared jointly with experts from Tajikistan and Kazakhstan. The inclusion of this nomination in the Representative List is planned for 2026. The Center has participated in the following international and national research projects: "Survey Project on Silk Roads Handicraft:s Workshops" by the International lnstitute of Central Asian Studies (IICAS). August-November 2021. The aim of the project is to promote the preservation of intangible cultural assets. Research results: A survey was conducted, and 107 responses were received from artisans of the Republic of Karakalpakstan and various regions of Uzbekistan. "Survey Project on Silk Roads Handicraft:s Workshops" by the International lnstitute for Central Asian Studies (IICAS). December 2022-April 2023. The aim of the project: ldentifying the potential for the sustainable use of traditional crafts in the Silk Road countries. Information and SWOT analyses of 17 artisan workshops located on the Silk Road have been prepared. "Sustainable Research Data Collection for ICH Safeguarding: Focusing on Central Asia and Small Island Developing States" by the International Research Center for Intangible Cultural Heritage in the Asia-Pacific Region (IRCI). 2022-2024, Research results: The Center compiled and presented a bibliographie list of research materials related to ICH and its protection in the country, provided data entry sheets on 160 research elements, the center held 1 international conference and 1 national conference within the framework of the project. «Calligraphy art along the Silk Road» by the International lnstitute of Central Asian Studies (IICAS), 2023-2024, Project objective: The purpose of the publication is to provide readers with brief information about the various styles and schools of calligraphy in the Silk Road countries, including elements listed in various lists in accordance with the UNESCO Convention for the Protection of the Intangible Cultural Heritage. Research results: A book-album in 3 languages «Calligraphy art along the Silk Road» has been prepared and published. "Preservation and dissemination of knowledge about petroglyphs of Nurata mountains (Sarmyshsoy, Changlisoy, Bironsoy) through publication of the book-album" by the PAVANKA International Foundation, 2024-2025. The aim of the project: Preservation and popularization of the cultural heritage of the petroglyphs of the Nuratinsky Mountains. To implement the project, a contract was signed with the private American foundation RSF Social Finance in San Francisco, USA, specializing in investments and venture donations. Work on the project continues.

Objetivos

The Umrboqiy Meros Center for Promotion of Uzbekistan Culture and Art is a nongovernmental organization aimed at preserving the intangible cultural heritage of Uzbekistan, reflecting the living heritage and transmitted through knowledge, experience, and practices in the relationship of people with nature. lt was established on February 7, 2019 by Lutfiya Mirzoeva and her associates and became a member of the National Association of Non-Governmental NonProfit Organizations of Uzbekistan on March 6, 2019. The NGO's priorities are reflected in its Charter as follows: • wide promotion of the art and culture of the peoples of Uzbekistan, traditions and national values; • Study, popularize, analyze and promote the development and preservation of intangible cultural heritage, in particular traditional handicrafts and performing arts.; • promote a healthy lifestyle, culture and rules of proper nutrition, physical activity; • Wide promotion of the nature of Uzbekistan, respect for the environment and ecological culture among young people; • Promoting interethnic harmony and friendship, mutual understanding and humanism in society; • Promoting education and culture among adults and youth; • Support for socially vulnerable segments of the population; Currently, it has its own territorial offices in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Khorezm, Bukhara, Samarkand, Navoi, Kashkadarya and Syrdarya regions. The Center is already a well-known nongovernmental non-profit organization in the republic, which strives to expand international cooperation. Cooperation has been established with NGOs and government organizations working in the field of intangible cultural heritage of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Japan, Turkey and a number of other countries. The Living Heritage Center for Promotion of Uzbekistan Culture and Art is an association of stakeholders from the local community. The Center has established a Council that has sections for each demain of the ICH, which brings together art historians, writers, specialists in intangible cultural heritage, artists, folk craftsmen, journalists, doctors, environmentalists, professors of higher educational institutions.

Cooperación

The Center has managed to establish a long-term dialogue between communities, native speakers, youth, people of different nationalities and ages who share a love and interest in the art and culture of Uzbekistan. On March 6, 2019, the Center became a member of the National Association of NonGovernmental Non-Profit Organizations of Uzbekistan. The Center has signed memoranda of cooperation in the field of ICH protection with such non-governmental organizations as the Union of Writers, the Union of Composers, the International Charitable Foundation "Golden Heritage", the Republican Association "Artisan", the Uighur National Center in Uzbekistan, etc. Communication with communities and individual carriers of ICH is carried out both directly and through their regional offices, which operate in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Khorezm, Bukhara, Samarkand, Navoi, Kashkadarya and Syrdarya regions. The Center organizes seminars and conferences involving representatives of communities and native speakers of the ICH (International Conference "Harmony of tangible and Intangible Cultural Heritage" -2023, Republican scientific and practical seminar "Preservation of knowledge and skills of intangible cultural heritage related to crafts and performing arts: problems and opportunities" - 2024, International Forum "Makom - the best bouquet of musical art" -2024)) Participation in international ("Silk Road Craft Workshops Research Project" - 2021, "Silk Road Craft Workshops Research Project" -2022-2023, "Sustainable Collection of Scientific Data for ICH Protection: with a focus on Central Asia and Small Island Developing States" -2022-2024 "The art of calligraphy on the Silk Road" - 2023-2024, "Preservation and dissemination of knowledge about the petroglyphs of the Nu rata Mountains (Sarmyshsoy, Changlisoy, Bironsy) by publishing a book album."- 2025) projects and national ("Respect of youth for national traditions" -2019, "Traditional crafts of the Great Silk Road" -2021 , "Protection of the intangible cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan" -2021 -2022) projects, representatives of the Center directly meet with representatives of communities and individual speakers of ICH. ln particular, within the framework of the national project "Protection of the intangible cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan" in 2021 -2022, field research was organized, and based on the results of the study, atlas books were published in three languages (Uzbek, Russian and English), which collected information on more than 350 individual carriers of ICH.
