Velika Stojkova Serafimovska is Professor of Ethnomusicology and Folkloristics at the Institute of Folklore “Marko Cepenkov”, Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, and has served as a Member of Parliament in North Macedonia since 2020. She has more than two decades of experience in safeguarding intangible cultural heritage (ICH) at national, regional, and international levels. Her work has included the development of safeguarding policies, inventories, capacity-building programmes, and professional training initiatives. She is a member of the National Council for Cultural Heritage and the National Commission for the Valorization of ICH Elements, and has coordinated several Erasmus+ projects focused on UNESCO cultural spaces and ICH values.
