Ms Vanecia Mungapen

Ms. Vanecia Mungapen is a Cultural Heritage Consultant with more than 19 years of experience in the safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage. Possessing a Master’s in International Heritage Management from the University of Birmingham, UK, her expertise emcompasses the inventorying, documentation and safeguarding of intangible cultural heritage at national level in Mauritius. She played a key role in the preparation and elaboration of four UNESCO ICH nomination files for the Republic of Mauritius. She worked on the preparation of Periodic Reports for the Convention for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage. Ms. Mungapen also contributed to community-driven projects and educational initiatives. For nearly 15 years, she led the ICH Unit at the National Heritage Fund in Mauritius.
