Monique Memong holds a degree in history from the University of Yaoundé I and has served as department head in the Intangible Cultural Heritage Subdirectorate at the Cameroon Ministry of Arts and Culture since 2021. She has been working for the Cultural Heritage Directorate since 2020, leveraging her experience gained working on recent major initiatives to preserve living heritage in Cameroon, as well as in multinational initiatives in collaboration with UNESCO, ICESCO, and UNHCR, with the full participation of local communities. She also participated in a China-Africa exchange and cooperation programme in the People’s Republic of China.
