Léonce Ki is a professor and researcher in Burkina Faso, with a dual background in tangible and intangible cultural heritage. He currently coordinates the Cultural Heritage Management programme at Sib Sié Faustin University and acts as Executive Secretary of the accredited NGO ASAMA (Association to safeguard masks). Léonce has a Ph.D. in Archaeology, having majored in cultural heritage, and three master’s degrees in heritage management. He served as a member of the Convention’s Evaluation Body (2019–2022) and regularly contributes to discussions on the Convention’s topics. In addition to the 2003 Convention, Léonce is very familiar with the 1972 Convention, where he serves as an ICOMOS expert in both nomination evaluation and capacity-building.
