Dr Susan O. Keitumetse, an international heritage scholar and expert with a multi-disciplinary background (Archaeology, Environmental sciences, Museums and Education), approaches heritage research through this diverse lens. Her PhD thesis (2005, Cambridge) on Sustainable development and cultural heritage management, is a leading scholarship linking Sustainable development and world cultural heritage, consequently incorporating intangible cultural heritage elements in conservation discourses.

Since 2009 Dr Keitumetse has worked with various UNESCO sections as an expert advisor, examiner, juror, facilitator, and individual consultant. She is a research scholar and a UNESCO Chairholder on African Heritage Studies and Sustainable Development at the University of Botswana.
