Cultural heritage specialist, researcher, and consultant, PhD in Tourism at the Complutense University of Madrid. He has professional experience in Bolivia, Ecuador, and Colombia in intangible cultural heritage safeguarding, including in the development of safeguarding plans, community-based inventories, nominations, post-disaster recovery and resilience, and regulatory frameworks. He is a consultant for the Organization of Ibero-American States (OEI) on intellectual property related to traditional craftsmanship, and has advised UNESCO Creative Cities processes in Quito, Manizales, Valparaíso, Portoviejo, and Montecristi. He previously served as Culture Coordinator at the UNESCO Office in Quito and as Director of Culture at Ecuador’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
