With a Ph.D. in history and heritage, Abdessalam Amarir currently serves as head of the Heritage Inventory and Documentation Division within the Department of Culture in Morocco. He oversees inventory operations for intangible cultural heritage, helps prepare nomination files for UNESCO lists, and leads capacity-building workshops on the implementation of the 2003 Convention. He has published several articles on the tangible and intangible aspects of cultural heritage. He also focusses on the application of intellectual property rights regimes to intangible cultural heritage.
