Overview:
Building on ongoing activities coordinated by the UNESCO Office in Quito, this project provides funds for the creation of an online platform designed to increase the visibility and understanding of living heritage and its relation to the pandemic. The platform will be a space for knowledge sharing and peer-to-peer learning on the contribution of living heritage to sustainable development, with a focus on how COVID-19 has impacted and transformed living heritage elements and on how this heritage can be a source of resilience for communities. High-quality audiovisual material will be produced for the documentation of specific elements of living heritage in Bolivia, Colombia, and Ecuador. In the same way, pedagogical guidelines for mobilizing the resources of the platform in formal and non-formal educational contexts will be developed.
