Overview:

The project aims to strengthen the capacities of key stakeholders in two Caribbean Small Island Developing States (SIDS) regarding the integration of living heritage into primary education. Building on the recommendations from a previous regional project (‘Learning with Intangible Cultural Heritage for a Sustainable Future in Latin America and the Caribbean’; 2021-2022), this new initiative includes capacity-building and teacher training activities focused on key areas of the 2003 Convention; updating and developing teaching materials that emphasize the safeguarding of living heritage; conducting community-based inventories of living heritage elements in schools; awareness-raising activities and cross-country exchanges and peer-to-peer learning between the two beneficiary Caribbean SIDS.
