UNESCO Headquarters, Paris - The deadline of 31 March for submitting nominations to the Lists of the 2003 Convention, proposals to the Register for Good Safeguarding Practices and Requests for International Assistance for examination by the Intergovernmental Committee in 2019 is fast approaching.

This year the 31 March falls on a weekend, so the Secretariat will accept nominations submitted by the end of the first working day after that, as was the case in 2014. Given that Monday 2 April is also a public holiday at UNESCO Headquarters, nominations should be submitted by 6 p.m (Paris time) Tuesday 3 April 2018, using the forms for the 2019 cycle available online.

As has been the case for previous cycles and in line with the Committee’s decisions, the Secretariat will process approximately 50 files for examination in 2019, while ensuring the treatment of at least one file per submitting State for the 2018-2019 period.
