Non-governmental organizations play vital roles in safeguarding intangible cultural heritage. At the international level, NGOs having proven competence in safeguarding ICH may be accredited to provide advisory services to the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage (read more on the criteria for accreditation and advisory functions).
Interested organizations have until 31 May 2015 to submit the accreditation requests which will be examined during the tenth session of the Committee to be held from 30 November to 4 December 2015 in Namibia. The recommendations of the Committee on these requests will then be submitted to the General Assembly in June 2016, which will decide on new accreditations.
Such requests must be submitted in English or French using the standard format (ICH-09).
