The start of the eighteenth session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage is fast approaching to take place in Kasane, Republic of Botswana.

UNESCO thanks the Republic of Botswana for hosting the session in Kasane from 4 to 9 December 2023.

Coming from all around the globe, participants will have the occasion to celebrate numerous expressions of living heritage, in particular through inscriptions. At the same time over 30 side events will be held on various themes related to the safeguarding of living heritage, and the ICH NGO forum will be holding its annual general assembly.
