The deadline of 30 April 2023 is fast approaching for non-governmental organizations with proven competence in safeguarding intangible cultural heritage to submit accreditation requests to provide advisory services to the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage.
NGOs can play a key role in the safeguarding living heritage, as recognized by Articles 9 and 11 of the 2003 Convention and Chapter III.2 of its Operational Directives. The accreditation system in place under the 2003 Convention provides an opportunity for NGOs to contribute substantially to the implementation of the Convention and the work of the Committee.

The reports submitted by the 30 April deadline will be examined by the Committee at its eighteenth session in December 2023, for subsequent accreditation by the General Assembly of States Parties to the Convention in 2024.

Interested NGOs are invited to submit their requests using the dedicated ICH-09-Form, available with its corresponding instructions on the dedicated webpage.

For any further inquiries related to the accreditation process, please contact the Secretariat at ICH-NGO@unesco.org.
