Taller de vidrio soplado / Traditional blowed glass workshop
Knowledge, craft techniques and skills in glassmaking were included in UNESCO’s Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2023, recognising their value as an ancestral technique that sustains identities, social cohesion and the transmission of knowledge. In this regard, the Royal Glass Factory of La Granja (Segovia) acts as a fundamental reference point in the conservation, innovation and transmission of this unique craft.
For this reason, and to commemorate International Intangible Heritage Day, a theoretical and practical workshop will be held in which participants will have the opportunity to blow glass and learn first-hand about the traditional processes, tools and techniques used by the master glassmakers at the Royal Glass Factory. This activity seeks to highlight the diversity and richness of living heritage, as well as the need to safeguard it.
