Sing-along Event: Come and chant Irunmole songs with us
Marking the International Day of the Intangible Cultural Heritage Friends of Yoruba Culture e.V.in Germany will invite individuals from all cultures to sing Irunmole songs originated from the indigenous Yoruba spirituality – the Ifá system of knowledge, orally transmitted from generation to generation by the ethnic group of the Yoruba in Southwestern Nigeria with the town Ile Ife as it is starting point.
The Ifá divination system was inscribed as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by the UNESCO in 2008.
All songs shared in the collective singing event have been transmitted to members of Friends of Yoruba Culture e.V. in Germany, by High Ifa and Osun priest and spiritual head of the annual Osun festival in Osogbo/Nigeria Prince Babalawo Adigun Olayiwola-Olosun.
The Sing-along Event: Come and sing Irunmole songs with us will take place on Sunday 26 October 8 -8:45 pm CET (UTC+1)

Music is a language that can be understood internationally. Therefore our singing event contributes to intercultural understanding. To foster the understanding brief explanations to the songs are offered. Every Irunmole is linking us to the spiritual side of our existence. Chanting for them gives us good energies, helps us to meditate and to connect to our spiritual source.

For those who are not familiar with the indigenous Yoruba belief there will be a brief explanation on each song.
