Secrets of Tradition
The event, titled “Secrets of Tradition”, was organized as part of the celebrations for the International Day of Intangible Cultural Heritage. Its main goal was to introduce children to Albania’s rich intangible cultural heritage in a fun, interactive, and educational way. The program combined visual presentations, games, and quizzes to help children learn about and connect with their cultural roots.
The activities began with a PowerPoint presentation showcasing different elements of intangible cultural heritage, including traditional crafts, music, dances, folklore, and customs. Following the presentation, a quiz was conducted to reinforce what the children had learned. The quiz encouraged participation, helped them recall key information, and made learning enjoyable through friendly competition.
To further engage the children, a memory game was organized. Children were given photos of different heritage elements and were asked to match the images and form groups based on the type or theme of the heritage. This activity promoted teamwork, creativity, and critical thinking, while also helping children recognize and categorize aspects of their cultural heritage.
Overall, the event successfully combined education, interaction, and play, allowing children to explore intangible cultural heritage in a meaningful and enjoyable way. Through presentations, quizzes, and games, participants developed a better understanding of traditional practices, strengthened their memory and collaboration skills, and experienced the cultural traditions firsthand. The event fostered curiosity, appreciation, and pride in Albania’s intangible cultural heritage among the younger generation, contributing to its preservation for the future.
