Publication Register of the Intangible Cultural Heritage (2008–2023) in Slovenia
Slovenia ratified the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2008, and the Slovene Ethnographic Museum has been performing the role of the national Coordinator for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage since 2011.
In this fifth updated version of the publication Register of the Intangible Cultural Heritage (2003-2023) we present 115 units that were inscribed in the national inventory of the intangible cultural heritage of Slovenia from 2008 until the end of May 2023 and are practiced by the 335 bearers inscribed so far.
We want the bilingual publication to acquaint the domestic readership with the diverse and rich intangible cultural heritage of Slovenia, which is already entered in the Register, and to encourage bearers to prepare new initiatives for entry. English translations will be welcomed by both bearers and foreign intangible cultural heritage experts, especially when planning multinational nominations.
