'Knowledge and skills that unite generations and nations' series of event
The activity will consist of several key events, around which public and expert discussions will take place concerning the role and place of the ICH in the modern world, including emergencies, and in overpassing their consequences.
The activity lasting a month, will start in Kyiv, in the National Museum of Folk Architecture and Life of Ukraine. A festival of crafts will be organized there, within the frames of which the online conference “20 years of the Convention 2003: living heritage versus missiles”, with international participants, crafts fair, performances, masterclasses, presentations of traditional cuisine will be carried out. Round tables with bearers, practitioners and experts on ICH safeguarding in emergencies will be conducted. The openair cinema hall will provide films about concrete ICH manifestations or, widely, about the living heritage. A set of media events is planned, including the press conference.
The continuation of the activity envisages the international part: the exhibition, masterclasses. photo exposition, presentation of video-films and a booklet, lecture “Cultural heritage in Ukraine under the war” in Norway since 30 September 2023 to 8 October 2023.
The activity in Norway will be supported by the Norwegian Crafts lnstitute. Exhibitions of kobzar and wheel lyre tradition, embroidery and wood carving will take place in Fredrikstad Museum and Sarpsborg Museum. Norwegian cultural organizations, craftsmen and experts in ICH, Ukrainian displaced persons will participate in the events. On 12 October 2023, the results of the activity will be summarized al the press conference organized by the MCIP with participation of all stakeholders.
