Håndverk og utdanning- Traditional crafts and education

On the 17th of October, on the 20th anniversary of the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, Norwegian Crafts Institute and its partners are arranging the conference Løfte håndverket- Advancing the Crafts. Place: Maihaugen Open Air Museum, Lillehammer. The theme will be Traditional crafts and education (Håndverk og utdanning). The conference or gathering, will open with introductions on crafts and living heritage by Norwegian Crafts Institute and the 20th anniversary of the Convention by Arts and Culture Norway. Løfte håndverket is a network and a forum for discussion important issues concerning traditional crafts and an important channel of information. Gatherings are arranged twice a year, in spring and in fall. Representatives from important craft milieus and independent craftsmen give advice and suggest the themes for the gatherings. Norwegian Crafts Institute leads the network.
