This project presents an interactive exhibition centered on the living heritage of Tiger Sheng and Leopard Sheng ritual dances, together with traditional edible plant knowledge in Chuxiong. Rooted in local cultural practices, the exhibition aims to bring intangible cultural heritage into contemporary educational spaces through experiential learning and public engagement.
The exhibition is designed as a physical, immersive display, combining visual panels, objects, videos, and live demonstrations. Visitors are guided through the cultural meanings, performance contexts, and ecological knowledge embedded in these traditions. Particular attention is given to the relationship between ritual practices and the natural environment, highlighting how traditional knowledge systems contribute to sustainable living and cultural continuity.
To enhance accessibility and engagement, digital tools are incorporated as supportive elements. These include multimedia presentations, interactive displays, and AI-assisted content exploration, allowing visitors to access layered information and deepen their understanding of the heritage elements. However, the exhibition maintains a strong emphasis on real-world experience, prioritizing direct interaction, observation, and participation.
The project also serves an educational purpose, encouraging students to actively engage with local culture through inquiry-based tasks and guided activities. By integrating cultural heritage into the learning process, it aims to strengthen cultural awareness, promote respect for diversity, and foster a sense of responsibility for heritage preservation.
Overall, the exhibition explores an innovative approach to living heritage transmission by combining traditional knowledge, physical exhibition design, and digital support. It provides a replicable model for integrating intangible cultural heritage into educational and public contexts, contributing to the broader goals of cultural sustainability and community engagement.
