Conference on safeguarding experience and best practices in Ukraine
The conference on safeguarding experience and best practices will be dedicated to the twentieth anniversary of the 2003 Convention, the fifteenth anniversary of the ratification by Ukraine to the 2003 Convention and the tenth anniversary of the first inscription of an element practiced in Ukraine (Petrykivka painting), inscribed in the Representative List (2013). Representatives of Estonia and Croatia will take part in the conference presenting their experience and cooperation with Ukraine. Representatives of the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine and culture organizations will also describe the current situation with intangible cultural heritage safeguarding under conditions of war. Representatives of territories under occupation (Luhansk region) and indigenous peoples (Karaites) will talk about intangible cultural heritage safeguarding in emergencies. This conference will be the first of a set of meetings addressing the development of new strategies and policies for intangible cultural heritage safeguarding in Ukraine under existing conditions and in post-war perspective.
