Martín Andrade-Pérez is a researcher at the Erigaie Foundation working on intangible cultural heritage (ICH) since 2005. Between 2007 and 2011, he worked as an advisor at the Colombian Ministry of Culture for the implementation of the 2003 Convention as well as national policies for the safeguarding of ICH. At Erigaie, he has developed participatory safeguarding methodologies and contributed to several nomination files for UNESCO Lists and national lists of ICH.
Martin was a member of the 2003 Convention Evaluation Body on behalf of Erigaie Foundation (2018-2021), serving as rapporteur in 2019. He has served as a consultant for UNESCO initiatives on building capacities for safeguarding ICH in conflict. Currently, he is a guest researcher at the Meertens Institute, a research institute of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences, and a lecturer at the Master in Applied Museums and Heritage Studies at the Reinwardt Academy - Amsterdam University of the Arts.
