How can a storyteller tell a story without an audience? How could a carnival be held online?
Following the adventures of the epic character ‘Soualigaman’, this project seeks to share with children in Sint Maarten how living heritage and public life are impacted during the pandemic. Via an animation and digital comics, the superhero Soualigaman showcases how the embodiment of social practices, rituals and festivals - such as funerals, carnival, storytelling, foodways - are affected. The project also stands for raising awareness, as youngsters are called to respect the reinforced sanitary protocols while discovering the adventures of Soualigaman.
