Ten years after the adoption of the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage by the General Conference of UNESCO on 17th October 2003, the international community is celebrating, this year, the 10th anniversary of the Convention.

A significant number of activities are planned by States Parties and various international and local stakeholders involved in the safeguarding of intangible cultural heritage. They are all invited to share on this site the events and activities they organize to celebrate this anniversary. All activities can then be immediately consulted on a map, a calendar and a list in their original language.

Please register your activities at the following link. Once registered, the planned activities may be modified and updated directly online.

This anniversary offers a wide range of actors the opportunity to make an initial assessment and to explore the key challenges, constraints and possibilities related to its implementation as underlined in the first periodic reports submitted in 2011 and 2012.
