The sixth session of the General Assembly of the States Parties to the 2003 Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage will be held at UNESCO Headquarters on 30 May to 1 June 2016.

The session will focus on a number of important issues, such as the revision of the Operational Directives to include a new chapter on safeguarding intangible cultural heritage and sustainable development. Members of the Intergovernmental Committee will also be elected.

Documents of the session are available online from Friday 29 April in the six working languages of the Assembly. A photo exhibition “Passing it on: Inventorying living heritage in Africa” will feature during the session outside UNESCO’s Fontenoy building.
