Relevant projects and initiatives

GACC systematically offers capacity building activities to local crafts actors and to a wider range of ICH actors regarding the safeguarding principles, cultural heritage based product development, marketing, intellectual property rights etc. GACC runs the Tbilisi International Fair of Crafts and Design “EthnoFest” on a biennial basis and contributes to the development of the local cultural gift market. The Center is a member of World Craft Council Europe and an official representative of Europa Nostra in Georgia. Through these networks it contributes to the exchange of experiences and good practices in the field of cultural heritage. It conducts studies and inventories of heritage crafts traditions and develops evidencebased safeguarding measures; supports the development of the institutional base of the crafts sector; established the Georgian Heritage Crafts Association and elaborated strategies for the Crafts Development Center in the Samgrelo-Zemo Svaneti Region of Georgia. GACC assists in building capacity for membership, entrepreneurial, educational and other types of organizations within the cultural heritage and creative industries sectors.
