The activities below have received the patronage of the Convention for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage. The reports received by the Secretariat of the Convention on these activities are sometimes accompanied by additional information (press releases, etc..), which can be requested from Secretariat at ICH-Emblem@unesco.org.

The first three and a half days (21th to 24th) the 50th meeting and therefore anniversary celebrations of the International Association for Falconry and Conservation of Birds of Prey (IAF), the world umbrella association for falconry clubs with 110 associations as members in 87 countries, will be held. It was founded in 1968 in Germany. The meeting for the main part is for delegates of the falconry clubs and individuals members.

The festival is held because of the recognition of falconry in Germany as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by the UNESCO in December 2016. Falconers from all over Germany come together just to celebrate this recognition. Several scientific, political and international guests are invited.
